Erkensruhr Forest Chapel and Fountain

Beautiful, well-kept forest chapel. A place where many people have already expressed their gratitude in the form of votive tablets, which fortunately has so far been spared from blemishes such …

Wüstebach Stream

Highlight • River

Very wild, original section. Partial sure-footedness required because the roads can be narrow and slippery after rain.

On the new Eifelschleife Spuren des Schiefers you have to cross some streams. A wooden bridge over the Erkensruhr leads across the wide Waldbach. Slate stones in the streambed make the stream murmur. Forest music 😊

After what felt like 100 years, Anne and I went for another walk 😍. We decided on the Creation Trail from Erkensruhr. 👍
I walked it years ago and I was impressed by the high proportion of trails. 🤗It started from the Finkenaul hiking car park. Well signposted with the hiking logo. On the way, there were lots of beautifully …

Today was a very nice and comfortable circular hike on the CREATION PATH in the Eifel National Park. Narrow paths, rugged slate cliffs, lots of splashing water and silence. Just the thing before the fourth Sunday in Advent. Oh yes, the Eifel is simply beautiful.

Very nice tour starting from the Erkensruhr sports field. First, my tour went to the Waldkapelle and then it continued over the Schöpfungspfad. Through a very beautiful landscape to the Dreibornerhöhe. There the Schöpfungspfad ends in a labyrinth.

The Creation Path goes above the Erkensruhr playground to the Dedenbornerhöhe. There you will find small panels with sayings about life. The path itself is very narrow in parts and slippery when wet. I strongly recommend sturdy shoes. You will also come across natural caves. The landscape is worth seeing. Partly you have a nice view.

The creation path is intended as a more meditative / Christian hiking trail with many stations up to the labyrinth. Hiking shoes and surefootedness are required in the first part of the path. We went in the rain and it was very slippery. In the second part, the path is comfortable and leads through the wild and romantic Wüstebachtal. Very …

From the Finkenauel car park, walk about 500m in the direction of travel (past the wild boar arena) until you find the first sign at a street intersection that says the creation path begins in about 900m if you turn left uphill. From there new signs follow and you can no longer miss the path. From the parking lot it …

Today I walked the beautiful path of creation with Conny. We went back over the Leykaul, along the wonderfully icy Wüstebach and later along the Erkensruhr. It was pretty cold but sunny weather, so we really enjoyed the already great tour.

We did this tour with our kids (3 and 6)! The big one completed the tour without any problems. He has also walked a lot through the Alps. The Creation Path is sometimes narrow and steep, sure-footedness is sometimes required. A lot is about roots and stones. We loved the way!
