That was an almost perfect start to hiking in the Hochrhön in 2022. The variety was more "spring-autumn". From the fog (at the start) to the sun, clouds, Rhön wind and the remains of snow in the trenches, everything was represented. Out and about in good time with a wonderful sunrise.
Parked at the Thüringer Hütte hiking car park and set off towards Rother Kuppe, along the Steinkopf to Hillenberg and from there over the Huckel back to the starting point. Well-guided tour with some highlights (Hillenberg holiday village, Frauenhöhle, Eisgraben waterfall, Nixenteich) and wonderful panoramic views.
