Historically, the banks of Deep Run served as a frequent hiding place for slaves moving north with Harriet Tubman. This is a beautiful road that runs alongside a tributary of the Patapsco River, called the Deep Run. Although Race Road is fairly wooded, keep an eye out for glimpses of the views towards the Deep Run.

This area is of historical interest, with various archaeological finds along here, such as arrowheads and axes. Harriet Tubman, an American abolitionist who escaped slavery and helped rescue enslaved people, used this area for hiding slaves when traveling north.
