The current Vaison-La-Romaine is built on a Gallo-Roman city. The ancient city can be visited and is just magnificent for those who are passionate about archeology.

Weathered Rock Formation

Highlight • Natural Monument

On the driveway you can see a lens-shaped weathered edge on the left. You can imagine it like an onion when the outer area has already been peeled off. Now the inner area is exposed to weathering and will also peel off at some point.

If you get there early, you have the best chance of good weather. If the visibility is good, the view is very far

Very fast descent in the first part with its long straight lines and its steep slope.

The second part through the forest is more winding while remaining fast if you know how to negotiate the turns well.

The Radome of Mont Ventoux

Highlight • Other

The mountain is most famous for the cycling races that have taken place here, especially the Tour de France. The steep slopes, the level of difficulty and the barren 'moon landscape' and the often strong wind on the mountain make the climb a real challenge. We have been camping at Malaucéne for years, a beautiful small campsite, within 5 km you can reach the Ventoux.

Vaison-la-Romaine Roman Bridge

Highlight • Bridge

Vaison-la-Romaine is a town nestled in the heart of the Vaucluse region. It is renowned for its rich historical and cultural heritage, especially its ancient Roman roots.

The town is divided into two distinct areas: the upper town, perched on a hill and crowned by a medieval castle, and the lower town.

Mont Ventoux the second....😉
Went up from Malaucene with my sister today.
Find the climb much harder than Sault.
But it's just as fun when you get to the top....😁
I hope that someday I'll get the chance to drive up from Bedoin again....
