Highlight • Beach

Costa Teguise has 5 different beach sections: the three most famous are Playa de las Cucharas, Playa Bastián and Playa del Jablillo. The two lesser known beaches are 'Playa de Los Charcos' in the east and this beach area 'Playa El Ancla' in the west of Costa Teguise.

La Mareta Royal Residence

Highlight (Segment) • Monument

King Hussein of Jordan had La Mareta built in the late 1970s based on a design by the Canarian artist César Manrique and the architect Fernando Higueras. In 1989, the Jordanian king donated the residence to King Juan Carlos I, who transferred La Mareta to the state as a "National Treasure". The property has its own helicopter landing pad and still serves as accommodation for the Spanish governor, but also for foreign state guests.

At the sight of the container port, visitors to Lanzarote quickly realize what it means to be on an island: Drinking water, many foods and everyday goods have to be transported to the island in containers. This supply must be provided not only for the approximately 150,000 inhabitants of the island, but also for the more than three million tourists who visit Lanzarote every year.

The mural in Puerto Naos, Arrecife pays homage to the women and their work in the canneries.
The work, designed by the artist Santiago Alemán, was carried out by students from the 'Pancho Lasso Lanzarote' art school, in collaboration with the Arrecife Municipality.

Windmill at the Old Fortress

Highlight • Monument

Here you can see very clearly how the wind turbines typical of the island were used in the past to transport the water from sea level up to the terraces, where the salt was then extracted on a large scale in the salt pans.

Wreck of the Temple Hall

Highlight • Structure

Exhausting but worthwhile tour from / to Arrecife.
Through the village it goes first up the street to the museum / house of the artist Cesar Manrique. The way to get there is a bit monotonous and the road is annoying. Outside the village, the view extends over vast lava fields. In the museum, the living area of the house built into the lava is fascinating. Yes, you could live like that. But at some point I would miss the trees. A little more up the hill and if you feel like it, you can climb a crater. Then always on the road to Costa Teguise. You can get back to Arrecife on the beach promenade. There are also a few restaurants here. Finally, the view of the wreck of temple H. is a highlight.
