September 3, 2024,Filzmoos. Bachalm. Murmeltierwiese.
The marmots are really cool. But you have to remember that they are wild animals and they are not always out of their burrows. They spend their midday hours underground.
And when they are out, the animals will happily eat some peanuts, apples, and carrots.

Where to go in rainy weather 🌧🌧?? Spontaneously we decided to do a tour to the Bachlalm, which is also known for its marmots. From the parking lot, the rather unspectacular path (asphalted access to the Alm) led us up to the Alm. If you like, you can also use the shuttle bus (6€ per person). In addition to grazing …

Summit cross and a beautiful view of the mountains. Then another detour to Ramsau, where autumn presented itself from its most beautiful side.

The cozy Bachlalm is located on the border between Salzburg and Styria—more precisely, between Filzmoos and Ramsau am Dachstein.
The alpine pasture is particularly famous for the marmots that live nearby, welcoming hikers and often even allowing themselves to be fed.
The Bachlalm is easily accessible for young and old. The family-friendly farm can be reached either by shuttle bus …

Short, strenuous and sweaty tour to the Bachlalm with its marmots! (30°C)
The tour starts from the Bachlalm car park on the Filzmooser Landstraße!
The steep tarmac road leads you straight up to the Bachlalm, you can leave the tarmac road at any time to take a shortcut - the impressive Dachstein south face is always in front of you …

The way up was via a forest road, which is really pleasant to walk on if you're not walking in the pouring rain like we were 🌧️
Nevertheless, we had a lot of fun, because the atmosphere was just fantastic. The fog rolled past the mountains and even the cows tried to seek shelter under the trees. However, it wasn't …

August 14, 2025,Wanderung bachlalm
Strengthened after breakfast, we headed towards Filzmoos to the Bachlalm. There is also a shuttle bus, of course we used it 😃. When we got to the top we saw marmots but didn't feed them. There were already a lot of people up there, but it was still a great experience. We then walked down to Filzmoos. Parking is very …

Today we went to the Bachlalm to see the Alpine choughs, marmots and the like. The Bachlalm is closed this year, but that doesn't matter, we had food with us. There are limited parking spaces on the main road. There is a shuttle bus up to the marmot meadow and back again for those who don't want to walk.
We …
