August 24, 2024,2. / von 6 Tagestouren von Hamburg bis Sylt. Von Elmshorn, Glückstadt, Brokdorf, Brunsbüttel.

From Elmshorn to Glückstadt is a beautiful tour through sparsely populated nature with beautifully landscaped reed-covered properties. The dikes are maintained by sheep farming. There are also places to stop for refreshments. The bike ride is very quick and easy as there are no mountains. Brokdorf, which was closed in 2011, can be seen from afar. Unfortunately, the church in …

August 24, 2024,Etappe 6 Moorrege to Brunsbüttel

The sixth stage of the "Tour de Tim 2024" took me from Moorrege to Brunsbüttel on August 24, 2024.
I didn't start in Moorrege until around 10:30 a.m. and arrived in Brunsbüttel quite comfortably at 6:00 p.m. The plan was to do 62 km, but two events made it a few more km.
Unfortunately, I can't share all the encounters …

July 7, 2025,Elbe 2 Brunsbüttel Wedel Altstadt

B&Bs in Brunsbüttel and Brokdorf, two decommissioned nuclear power plants, and pretty sandy beaches – that's how things got off to a rather contradictory start on the Elbe. Heavy rain came down around lunchtime, so we were able to enjoy a delicious meal in Glückstadt. But that meant we were later than planned and found ourselves in front of a …

June 10, 2023,SPO: Brunsbüttel - Seester (Etappe 6)

Our 6th stage took us from Brunsbüttel to Seester. In Brunsbüttel there was a lot to see on the water. Large ships bow from the North Sea Canal into the Elbe. We translated using the free ferry. The way ahead initially felt like a large industrial museum, here heaps of coal, there pipelines, then ships and railway wagons, finally the …

July 3, 2024,Nordseeküstenradweg Etappe 10 Haselau - Brunsbüttel

Today we have to take a detour via Elmshorn to cross the Krückau. It keeps raining lightly. We pass Glückstadt and head along the Elbe dyke again. We take refuge behind the dyke because the strong headwind makes it impossible to ride along the dyke. In Brunsbüttel we cross the Kiel Canal and on the last few kilometers we get …

Today the 7th stage along the beautiful Elbe behind which, as Konrad Adenauer joked, the "Asian steppe" begins. And then further along the Wilder Marsch to Brunsbüttel with the aim of Sankt Michaelisdonn in the "cabbage land" Dithmarschen, the largest contiguous cabbage-growing area (3100 ha) in Germany.

June 12, 2025,Nordseeküsten-Radweg Etappe 2 - Seestermühe bis Eddelak

We started in beautiful weather at the cafe in Seestermühe with coffee and pastries. Then we crossed the next lock, Krückau, to Glückstadt along the Elbe. There, we circumnavigated the harbor, then continued toward Brunsbüttel. We passed the decommissioned Brokdorf nuclear power plant before reaching Brunsbüttel. We crossed the Kiel Canal by ferry in Brunsbüttel. The canal begins here, and …
