Always following the signposts with the green wild boar symbol, the scenically very beautiful and varied wild boar hiking trail leads from the hiking car park at the Elgert cemetery, first in the direction of Roßbach and from there past the Waldsee Maroth back to Elgert.

All you hear the whole time is birdsong and you could relax if you didn't constantly hear your own footsteps on gravel for the first 3.5km.

A nice tour around Elgert with little elevation gain. With today's hot temperatures, the Westerwald without a forest was a drawback, but fortunately trees are growing again. Otherwise, fortunately, the destroyed forest path was repaired in a very hiking-friendly manner, so that only a few meters of gravel remained.
All in all, a nice round that isn't particularly strenuous.
