Das Meer und der weiße Strand gehören zum Landschaftsbild um die freundliche Stadt Lütjenburg. Der Tourismus besitzt eine hohe Bedeutung für den ruhigen, idyllischen Ort.
 Die über 800 Jahre alte Stadt Lütjenburg bietet als Luftkurort ideale Voraussetzungen für einen erholsamen Urlaub an der Ostseeküste und in der landschaftlichen abwechslungsreichen Holsteinischen Schweiz. Ein wunderbares Landschaftsbild in unverfälschter Natur bietet sich dem Auge des Betrachters. Ruhige Feldwege, oft gesäumt von Knicks und alten Eichen, sowie weite, lichte Wälder laden zum Radfahren und zu ausgedehnten Spaziergängen ein.  Die besondere Zierde der Stadt ist das barocke Rathaus von 1790 und das traditionelle Färberhaus (1576) mit über 400 Jahren das älteste Wohnhaus der Stadt Lütjenburg. In dem urigen Fachwerkhaus befindet sich heute das Standesamt.

Lütjenburg besitzt eines der schönsten und geschlossensten Kleinstadtbilder im sonnigen Holstein. Hier macht das Einkaufen Spaß, denn man hat noch Zeit für seine Gäste. Freundliche Cafés und Restaurants laden zum Verweilen ein. Alte Kopfsteinstraßen führen aus der Ober- in die Unterstadt oder zum Marktplatz, dem Herzen der Stadt, mit seinen backsteinroten Bürgerhäusern und dem mächtigen Turm der spätgotischen Michaeliskirche. Ein idealer Platz für Feste und Feiern.  Der Bismarckturm auf dem Vogelberg ist einer der schönsten Aussichtspunkte über die hügelige Landschaft Ostholsteins.

Bei guter Sicht kann man von Lütjenburg bis zu den dänischen Inseln schauen. 
Hier kann man auch die unter Naturschutz stehenden Stauchmoränen am Hessenstein erkunden. Zahlreiche Pflanzen und Tiere haben ihren Lebensraum in dem malerischen von Feuchtsenken und Steilhängen durchzogenen Gebiet.
 Bei einem romantischen Einkaufsbummel kann man die historische Kleinstadt entdecken. Boutiquen, kleine Läden und der Wochenmarkt mit bunten Gemüse- und Blumenständen und dem reichen Fischangebot lassen das Herz höher schlagen.

Weider a section of the Baltic Sea that I did not know. The path along the water wasn't always long, but I did see ostriches. 🤩
The water provided a brief cooling effect. 🏊🏻‍♂️👍
