On our way back from Warendorf we take the turnoff to the Austermann farm. Vegetables, fruit and herbs grow in the surrounding fields, most of which, like the meat products from the farm's pigs, are processed and sold directly on site. Various specialties change hands here, we particularly like the pickled gherkins in many different flavors.
