Church and Convent of Sant'Igne

The foundation of the Convent of Sant'Igne, dating back to the 13th century, is attributed to San Francesco d'Assisi (1182-1226).

On 8 May 1213, during his apostolic mission, St. Francis stopped in San Leo where the celebrations for the investiture of Montefeltrano II, son of Bonconte di Montefeltrano, had begun. On this occasion he gave a sermon on the lines of a loving song of the time: "So much is the good that I expect that I am delighted in every pain."

Medium difficulty route on unmarked but well marked paths that begins with an initial stretch on uncomfortable scree where you have to follow the numerous cairns, then a short "mountaineering" stretch that can be avoided by continuing on the dirt road. In this case the excursion can be classified as "easy".
