Paudais lock

Highlight • Other

It is nice to see that it is possible to carry out such renovations and continue to preserve the landscape and a culture.
It also shows that there is money here and that people have the opportunity to earn money.

This passage runs along several hundred meters of the dike which separates the Isac river from the Nantes-Brest canal. Always nice to see two rivers side by side.
The surroundings are very quiet and with shade if necessary.

The canal offers very beautiful walks accessible to everyone with small more technical passages such as "the single hidden" near the dike. Opposite the end of wood beach is very nice too.

A lock among others? No, because here you can have your bike repaired! This repair workshop is ideal because it is located along the Vélodyssée.

August 21, 2025,Projet sacoches 3: Nort - Redon
After two uncomfortable nights and a painful case of sciatica, I headed back to Rennes from Nort-sur-Erdre via Redon. Partly because of the inflatable mattress, which was probably designed for someone weighing 60 kilos max... It's a route I particularly enjoy for its beauty and diversity. And I didn't even take any photos... But there are plenty of those on …

The tour rippled along, like the river and later the canal, always on the side. Towards the end, the rain rippled and didn't stop.
The canal doesn't just go straight, but meanders in places, has wild-looking banks and surprised me with its varied view.

Day 5 - Redon - Nort-Sur-Erdre- Done. 44 miles.

Theme for the day… Celebrations! All our bike made it today without any catastrophes. 🎉 🥳 🙌🏽 😎🎈🎊.

Today has been an all together better day from the outset. The sun has shone all day and the canal and river has been a lovely backdrop to our journey all day.
