Since there are no drinking water stations on the Rhône Cycle Route, this rest area is very convenient. It offers a pleasant atmosphere and reasonable/normal prices. Plus, there's plenty of shade.

Remarkable avenue of plane trees

Highlight • Cycleway

What a pleasure to ride in the shade of these possibly century-old plane trees. An alley like you hardly see anymore. This section is on a ViaRhona (VR) route

Fast forward. To the Mediterranean 🌊

Day 15: Today was a bit more pleasant, after dying from the heat the past two days we left earlier today and had a long siesta in the afternoon.

In the distance we could also see Mont Ventoux, luckily we didn't have to cross it 😁

I'm taking advantage of a meeting in Avignon to explore the ViaRhôna and return by train. I'm not familiar with it south of Bourg-St-Andéol, so it's a discovery. But I'm on it because the route is mainly through vineyards and cultivated fields or along the highway, far from the Rhône. Personally, I find the ViaRhôna more interesting north of Bourg-St-Andéol.
