Beautiful, old arch bridge over the Lahn, from which you have a great view of the castle and Runkel. Right next door there is an ice cream parlor, where you can eat a delicious ice cream.

Cycling here in the Lahn Valley when the weather is nice is always a great pleasure! The fact that there is no road in this section of the valley is an invaluable advantage!

April 4, 2025,Lahnradweg 2025: Limburg -> Wetzlar
Today's tour took me once again to the beautiful Lahn Valley. I took a through train from Großenlüder via Gießen to Limburg. There I switched to my bike. After a brief tour of Limburg, I followed the Lahn Valley Cycle Path back via Weilburg to Wetzlar. A very beautiful route on good paths, mostly along the Lahn, even up to …

Beautiful Lahnradweg section! Ingenious paths, perfect events; very very beautiful castles and cities! We recommend! Unfortunately, only the way back by train from Limburg to Wetzlar was tedious, since direct trains failed and we had to travel tediously via Frankfurt to Wetzlar, instead of 50 minutes a whopping 2 1/2 hours. 😔

We started in good spirits in Limburg – no rain 😅, perfect cycling weather! 🚴‍♂️☀️ But when we reached Weilburg Castle after 36 kilometers, the weather had other plans: It started raining outside right during the guided tour. 🌧️

No problem! We simply stayed inside, listened intently to the stories, and used the time to enjoy the castle at our …

The path leads mostly under trees along the river - very nice.

Last stage of our Lahn tour. The most beautiful in terms of scenery. You can find the report and more pictures here:

Very beautiful between Limburg and Weilburg. From Weilburg to Wetzlar often next to a federal highway.

Unfortunately, only four out of five bikes were used because the first 25 km of the route weren't so nice. But then it was a dream.
