Medium-difficult circular hike from the Harzköhlerei Stemberghaus (free car park) via the Rotestein to the Rappbodetalsperre with the suspension bridge and back. Beautiful views are guaranteed.

It's always a beautiful walk, whatever the season. Today we could see from Rote-Stein that the Rappbode Dam is very, very full of water. At the charcoal burner's hut we discovered some new, beautiful wood carvings. There's also a well-made statue of Brocken Benno - let's see where it can find a good place.

The Rappbodetalsperre is the highest in Germany. The suspension bridge over the reservoir is the longest of its kind. After crossing the reservoir over the suspension bridge, we did a small circular hike to the Stemperhaus. This is a managed, rustic charcoal hut.
