Moulaine Valley Stream

Highlight (Segment) • River

Pretty single trail through the Moulaine valley, which is a nature reserve. Where there was once a lunar landscape, today there is a heavily forested valley with crystal-clear water, some of which comes from the old mine shafts. It babbles down to the valley over countless small rock steps. Unfortunately, there is always a lot of garbage here and in summer whole families often bathe here in the fragile stream bed. Cycling is allowed on the trails, but narrow and rooted. Despite everything one of the most beautiful places in the area.

Mine Entrance with Stream

Highlight • Structure

I presume this must be an old mine entrance to the Hussingny-Godbrange iron mines.

Adlergrund Tunnel

Highlight • Other

Passable tunnel on the Audun-le-Tiche-Rédange railway line in the direct F / L border area. Built in 1880, last train in 1966. Then the tracks were dismantled.
Info rail.lu/lignesfr/ligneaudunhussigny.html
About 700 meters long, in a curve, so that you can't see the end. Unlit, you have to have a lamp with you. Solid ground with no large holes or mud. Left and right partially open drainage ditch 70cm wide, which leads out the water. Still in very good condition in 2020. Relatively many users, no prohibition signs. Pedestrians and cyclists are sometimes on the move without lights. After heavy rainfall, water can also drip from the ceiling, but it is usually dry. All 50m niches in the walls, in which distance runners could shelter when an approaching train. At the west end outside the tunnel, a very bad stretch of road where there are still wooden sleepers.

Adlergrund Railway Trail

Highlight (Segment) • Trail

Very nice, narrow trail on an old railway line, from the end of the tunnel to Hussigny. Is regularly cut freely (thanks to the unknowns). In the western part from the fish ponds an even narrower trail runs in parallel. Very slippery when wet. Drive it while it's still possible. From Hussigny, a 4 meter wide, paved bike path has been built on this railway embankment. So it cannot be ruled out that this piece faces the same fate. (As of June 2020)
