The charm of a small Occitan village leaning against the foothills of the Causse du Larzac, distinguished by the density of its buildings and its simple architecture. Deserted about twenty years ago, it owes its rebirth to foreign immigration (mainly English). The houses, built of local sandstone, rise on the right bank of the river. Some have retained evidence of Renaissance architecture (mullioned windows and transoms, ornate lintels, etc.).
Saint-Privat experienced significant economic development at the end of the 19th century, with the exploitation of its subsoil.
