This section takes you through the heart of Oscar Scherer State Park, offering a pleasant route through a nicely forested area. This area is a habitat for the threatened Gopher Tortoises, so be careful as you run. If you see one, Florida Wildlife asks that you report it to help document where Gopher Tortoises are living in Florida communities, aiding in their protection.
