July 2, 2023,Sauerländer Waldroute Thememweg: Felsenmeer
Again a very nice tour in connection with the Sauerland forest route. Varied with beautiful views.

A beautiful loop in bright sunshine. 🌞 The start and finish was the Felsenmeer (Sea of Rocks) in Hemer.

The Felsenmeer is indisputably beautiful. You should really linger there and walk a few paths, also away from the bridge and viewing platform.
You really have to want the rest of the way.
The two mountains are challenging. The winding path makes it a little easier. You'll definitely be happy when it's going downhill again.
Otherwise nice to go.

So today we went to Hemer with 3 ladies, where we first looked at the sea of rocks, then we completed a circular route with a lot of elevation gain, there were always great views of the surrounding mountain landscape ⛰️ to see. We came via Ispei and then took the Hexenstich (which is quite a challenge) and then climbed …

I was once again driven to the Sauerland to actually see the Felsenmeer. I'll anticipate it... That was the least exciting thing of all. ☺️ The Sauerland forest route path is awesome. The meters in altitude are quite high, although the first climb is quite long and flat. Good to deal with. The second to Brockhausen is up 🤢🤮🥵. So …

The tour is very easy to walk, little road, good hiking trails.
We parked in the free parking lot at Felsenmeer. First through the sea of rocks, then after a short stretch of road we hiked up and down through nature. We will definitely repeat the tour at some point.

Yesterday's hike was very demanding. There are two steep inclines. For us it was extreme. But we have reached them. 😅

Lots of distant views of Hemer, Iserlohn, Deilinghofen and two power plants located in Uentrop (near Hamm).

The weather was great! 👍🏼😎☀️

Unfortunately, the beautiful forest paths have fallen to various storms, the drought, the bark beetle community and the final clearing to the opera: 75% lunar landscape, 5% intact forest, 10% successful reforestation and 10% asphalt roads in the city area. Maybe refreshing again in 10 years, currently very sobering and tiring ...
