To the Trauffelsen with a magnificent view of Burg Hohenzollern, over Hechingen, Boll and, with good visibility, even further, one reaches from the Raichbergturm. To the left one reaches the Zellerhorn, to the right one reaches the Hangenden Stein via a very varied section.

Escarpment Edge of the Swabian Jura

Highlight • Natural Monument

A wonderful section: on soft forest paths over roots and karst stones connects two fantastic panorama points of the route. Impress how the Alb suddenly drops about 300 meters into the valley. Rugged rocky outcrops, deep gorges. None of our cameras was able to capture how archaically touching this rustic landscape appears. The path of partly ancient trees in the mixed forest is shaded and protected: beech, maple, pine, spruce, chestnut and more. It's hard to imagine what individual specimens have already experienced: with 800 years of life expectancy, they may have served as an ambush for rebels in the Reformation War ... the imagination can be run free.

Hangender Stein Viewpoint

Highlight • Viewpoint

The Hangende Stein is located directly on the Albtrauf and offers a very beautiful view of the Schamental and towards Jungingen. The long-distance hiking trail Albsteig leads directly past this geological peculiarity. The Alb is crumbling here in slow motion and at some point the Hangende Stein will break off.
