The panorama that awaits you on the camera cannot be described in photos or words. From this rather unknown summit, one has an excellent view of the "majesties" of the Alpstein. While the Hohe Kasten is in a pretty pose nearby, the view glides over the exposed mountain range down to the Altmann, from there over to the Säntis and the Altalpentobel in the distance. The deep dark lakes in the valleys are beautiful.

Checkpoint Kamor

Kamor (1722 m) is one of the best climbs in the Alpstein. From Rüthi in the Rhine Valley, almost 1300 meters in altitude are climbed over 13 wonderful kilometers. The view gets better and better with every meter gained. Passing small Alps, there are some sections with unmade roads in between. But these are well maintained and the really steep parts are paved.
The real highlight comes shortly before the summit - the view over to the Alpstein mountains is overwhelming. On the last few meters of altitude, the somewhat more well-known neighbor of Kamor also shows up - the Hohe Kasten.
There are different ways to get to the Kamor. The road from Rüthi or over the Montlinger Schwamm - here, however, there is an additional piece of gravel. The ascent from the Ruhsitz restaurant is not recommended! This is an alpine trail and not nearly rideable in either direction!

Today in beautiful weather, 🌞 climbed the camera on the roof.
The Kamor (1751 m) is a little-known mountain ridge immediately north of the Hoher Kasten (1795 m) panoramic mountain, which is known for its overwhelming panoramic views. The Kamor forms the northeastern end of the Alpstein Mountains. You had a great view of the Rhine Valley and Lake Constance.
