Darscheider Drees

Highlight • Natural Monument

The Drascheider Drees is one of the many Dreese in the Vulkaneifel. The high iron content is clearly visible. The water tastes like rust. Anyone who likes it. ;)

Some of the largest trees in Rhineland-Palatinate can be found in southwest Darscheid. Some of the huge Douglas fir trees in the Lehwald are more than 50 meters high. You can find details on the information board during the hike.

The Rudebuhr is 464 meters high and is located in the middle of the forest next to a very pretty small forest pond. The croaking of frogs and water lilies are worth the highlight.

Overall, it's a very pleasant walk, mostly along wide forest paths through mostly shady woods. However, there are no real highlights, and the biodiversity touted in the name is, in my opinion, no more abundant than on the many other signposted hiking trails.

The HeimarSpur "Path of Biodiversity" has been in the planning for long enough - today I hiked it.

A great circular route where nature alone is the main attraction. The path is well signposted (the red owl can always be seen from afar) and is very varied and informative.

A hiking trail to the nature reserves and cultural monuments in the Darscheid district in the Vulkaneifel.
Sauerbrunnen Drees, Kaiserstein, giant trees, realm of the black stork, forest nature trail, emergency cross, Eifel view Semersberg, historical nature trail.
The biodiversity path leads to specially protected nature reserves.
It stretches like a net over the otherwise intensively used cultural landscape.
The …

A path of traces of home. Unfortunately, it doesn't live up to its name with the paths, as it mostly leads along wide paths. Unfortunately, the only path you could take is blocked by a missing bridge. That's why we had to walk across a busy street to get back on the tour. Apart from one or two panoramic views, …

Nice tour. Under: Path of biodiversity can be found.

Described in one word: relaxing.
Over very long stretches to the right and left of the path, you can find wild strawberries and wild blueberries, as well as many different flowering plants and tree species. The tree on the Darscheider Drees is impressively beautiful.
I have to admit that I didn't consciously notice the giant trees as such, maybe you …

Today Finja and I were already on the trail at 8:30 a.m. 👍 The home trail "Path of Biodiversity" starts from Darscheid. I think if we had been there 2 weeks later and it had been a few degrees warmer, we would have seen a lot of animals today. The path always leads us past some water source, small forest …

Another great lap not far away. We started in Darscheid and went under the autobahn to Darscheider Drees. Also tried directly from the source, of course. We started late and had ponchos with us, although we wouldn't have needed them for the whole tour. Nice 24 degrees and the path lived up to its name: frogs, lots of butterflies (which …
