Highlight • Religious Site

The cathedral is an impressive building in the old town of Regensburg. The famous "Domspatzen", a boys' choir, is also known from here. It belongs to the UNESCO World Heritage and is an important Gothic work in Bavaria. The stained glass windows from the 13th century are very impressive.

View of Regensburg Cathedral

Highlight • Viewpoint

When visiting Regensburg you definitely shouldn't miss it: A masterpiece of medieval architecture in Germany - The Stone Bridge.
Along with Regensburg Cathedral, it is the city's most important landmark and was certainly one of the reasons why Regensburg was included in the UNESCO World Heritage List. The Stone Bridge, which connects the old Bavarian district of Stadtamhof with Regensburg's old town, was considered a real wonder of the world in the Middle Ages. It was built in just 11 years, probably between 1135 and 1146. The busy trade traffic of Regensburg, an important economic center in the Middle Ages, required the permanent river crossing. So the council and citizens decided to build the building. For almost 800 years, until 1935, it remained the only bridge that served as a reliable Danube crossing in Regensburg and the surrounding area. The impressive structure spans the river in round stone arches at around 300 meters.

Next to the cathedral is the Stone Bridge the most famous landmark of Regensburg. The construction of the bridge was started in 1135 and thus the Stone Bridge is today the oldest completely preserved bridge in Germany. Meanwhile, it is reserved for pedestrians and especially on summer evenings here is a nice atmosphere.

You book a weekend in Regensburg and it rains constantly. ☔️😫
Now that the Danube has disappeared back into its riverbed and no more disaster tourists are making their way to the city, I can also publish the tour in the rain of Regensburg. 🤦‍♂️🙋‍♂️

As I'm in Offenbach at my brother's this weekend, I have to get a glass of gin. I'm too early in Regensburg. I'm letting myself drift through the alleys. Banksy is a big hype in London. So I'm going to look at the street art. Let's see what the stencils can do on the wall. And there's actually some pretty …
