Clavero Tower

Located at the crossroads between Miñagustín street and Consuelo street we find the Torre del Clavero. It dates back to the 15th century and they say that it was built as part of the Palace of Don Francisco de Sotomayor who was a keystone maker, hence the name by which this unique building is known.
This building is one of the best known and typical of the city of Salamanca and was declared a national monument on June 3, 1931. Together with the Torre del Aire, they constitute the best of the urban fortifications built by the Salamanca nobility throughout the XV century.
