The Cornelia Fort Airpark was a private airport built in 1945 and was used privately and by the public for many years. In 2011 it was incorporated into the Shelby Bottoms area. It is now a nice open area to walk or run. It also connects you to the Shelby Bottoms trail area with forest lakes and the Greenway which goes along the Cumberland river.
