Start of the Red, Black and Green forest walking trails – Derwent Valley, Peak District

Waymarked, colour-coded walking trails through the forest, Red=1.5km, Black=3km, Green=4.5km. All three trails enter the woods here, alternative to walking around the reservoir. Suitable all year round.

January 26, 2025,Alport Castles - Parents Club

Januarys Parents club took us to Alport Castles for a lovely 14km loop. We had wind, rain, ice, bogs, snow, good chats, we saw Derwent Dam flowing and the water blowing backwards off the top! We were even treated to some freshly baked brownies from Ella and finished with a pint and chips in The Yorkshire Bridge Inn.
