Hiked with Petra Rübel was nice. Above Glan-Münchweiler was a nice path, from there you can walk to the bridges, there is even a circular path, but 20 km. In Brücken you can stop at a hiker's hut - Fritz Claus source, it would be very nice and clean (brand new or renovated - we don't know) :-))
