The town of Edolo stands at the beginning of the Upper Val Camonica, at the confluence with the Val di Corteno. It is said that a pagan idol dedicated to the Roman god Saturn once existed here, from which the name Edolo probably derives. During the Middle Ages, the bridge that connected Capo di Ponte di Mù to Edolo was subject to tolls and was managed first by the Federici and later, under Venetian rule, by the Griffi di Losine.
