May 4, 2025,Wuppertal Herbringhauser Bachtal & Talsperre
Today was my first time in the Herbringhauser Bachtal valley. I hadn't seen this part of Wuppertal before.

The trail wasn't very busy, so I was able to take in the greenery in peace.

The dam is fenced off, but the tour rewards everyone with many great views, even narrower paths, and regular climbs and descents.

Highly recommended!

We started our hike today at the "Herbringhausen Schule" hiking car park. To be honest, I expected a little more from the hike today, especially from the area around the dam. Unfortunately, the Herbringhauser dam is completely sealed off with a fence, so that you can't see much of the dam itself, unless you cross the dam yourself. Furthermore, there …

Large round around Herbringhausen and the reservoir. A nice up and down mainly through deciduous forest, which is why the distant views were a bit missing, but all the more beautiful colorful leaves. Do you really have to go through the attached loop? 🤷 Maybe to get the 20km full 😁🤣

The sun ☀️ beckoned, so @Andrea S. and I went on this wonderful tour (following a tip from @Gesine ). It went through shady forests, past small streams and through blooming meadows. We were thrilled by the many yellow gorse bushes. This tour is worth walking. 🌳👍🏻

Despite a very pleasant, boozy family celebration🍻 the night before, I didn't want to let the pleasant autumn weather pass without a hike on Sunday morning. I traveled deep into the Bergisches Land region, where I walked extensively around the Herbringhauser Dam (de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Herbringhauser_Talsperre), located between Wuppertal and Remscheid🥾🥾. This created a real autumn atmosphere, as the sky was mostly overcast—only …

This time komoot actually gave me some trouble; for a long time it looked as if the record was lost. I was only able to complete the recording after restarting my Pixel 7 Pro. "Specials": offline towards the end of the tour and the tour name was very similar to yesterday.

I found this tour here yesterday and did it directly today.
A wonderful path with lots of birdsong and the sound of a brook.
The path is easy to walk, just right for my injured knee.

In the best hiking weather, @Ulrike 🦊 and I went to the Herbringhauser Bachtal today. Thank you @Gesine for the tip. It was a wonderfully green tour, through shady forests and along fields, many beautiful paths, streams and lush flowering gorse bushes that I couldn't get enough of. An absolutely recommendable tour, especially with a nice companion 😊. Thank you, …
