Wissenbach Bridge from 1872
The 23-meter-long Schwänberg Bridge is a covered truss bridge over the Wissbach stream.
For pedestrians, it connects the Egg district of Flawil with the Schwänberg district of Herisau. The first bridge was built in 1615 and replaced by the current one in 1782. Numerous inscriptions by its builders make it a "Speaking Bridge".

A break in the rain during a spell of bad weather allowed us to take a short tour through the beautiful and extremely impressive Wissbach Gorge. One of the best gorges in the region.

There is a subtle smell of liquid manure in the air. That means there is rain. And the children want more rights. So just something small. But still beautiful.
