Old Town Burgdorf

Highlight • Historical Site

The old town of Burgdorf, consisting of the upper town and the lower town, is beautifully situated on the river Emme. The mighty Burgdorf Castle towers majestically over the town.

Emme Covered Bridge

Highlight • Bridge

A beautiful example of a covered wooden bridge, as is often found in Switzerland. This one is special, however, because it is the longest wooden arch bridge in Europe.

Panoramic View of the Emmental

Highlight • Viewpoint

If you're lucky, you can actually enjoy a 360-degree view. But you don't always get to see our three most beautiful peaks in the Bernese Alps, the Eiger, the Mönch and the Jungfrau. Today was another day like that!

June 13, 2025,♥️route 🇨🇭 – Etappe 6: Von Burgdorf nach Willisau
We started in Burgdorf – past the castle and out of town, directly into the tranquil hilly landscape of the Emmental Valley. From the beginning, the route climbs and descends steadily on small side roads and paths. The landscape is vast, green, and very varied – with beautiful views almost throughout.
