Hasegg Castle

Highlight • Castle

Mint tower of Hasegg Castle, Hall in Tirol
The old town of Hall is the largest preserved medieval old town in North Tyrol: its landmark is the mint tower of Hasegg Castle.
Two special features of this charming little town are its old town and the mint with the mint tower. In 1477, Archduke Sigmund of Tyrol moved the princely mint from Merano to Hall, probably because of its proximity to the silver mines of Schwaz. In 1748, the Maria Theresa thaler was minted over 17 million times here and used as a means of payment all over the world. Today, the coin museum at Hasegg Castle tells of these times, and the associated mint tower offers you a wonderful view of the city.

Austria's smallest town between the Inn and the Schlossberg is bursting with cultural treasures. In addition to its medieval charm, the town also has many sights to offer and is also known as the glass town. This name has a long history, as glass art in all its forms has long been a traditional craft in the region.
The Augustinermuseum Rattenberg is not only worth a visit because of its historical art treasures, but also has the only church tower in the whole of Tyrol that is open to the public. This half-timbered tower offers a first-class view of medieval Rattenberg and impresses with its historic bells and baroque tower clock.

One of the most beautiful viewing points in Rattenberg can be found high up on the Schlossberg. It is only about a 15-minute walk from the town center. You will be rewarded with a magnificent view of Rattenberg and the Inn Valley. Once you reach the top, you can also admire the castle ruins and the legendary Bienerturm. In summer, the Schlossberg is also the venue for the Rattenberg Schlossbergspiele.

Reintaler Lake

Highlight • Lake

The Reintaler See is the largest lake in the so-called Kramsach lake district. Its turquoise-green water, which becomes pleasantly warm in summer, invites you to take a refreshing dip. It can reach up to 25 degrees. If you want to recharge your batteries, that's also possible: there is also a café and a restaurant by the lake.
