November 23, 2025,Winterrunde ❄️ durch das Selketal – Bergbaugeschichte, stille Wälder 🌲🌲und weite Ausblicke 👀
The starting and ending point of this winter hike is Straßberg.

Under sunny skies ☀️ and -4°C 🥶, the trail follows mostly dry and firm paths, occasionally covered with a thin layer of snow ⛄️, lending the landscape a tranquil, almost fairytale-like atmosphere.

Right at the beginning, I encounter the first frozen streams, their ice surfaces sparkling in the light.

At about km 6.9 a fence was put up through the hotel. It was still possible to get across the property because of a hole in it. This path may not be available in the future. We haven't seen any detours yet.

After Saturday belonged to the family, the alarm clock rings this morning. Get out of the bunk, set the breakfast table and start the day comfortably. Backpack 🎒 packed and off we went to the parking lot at Auerberg. Now change shoes and I noticed that I was wearing the wrong socks 😩. Wow I was pissed off but …

The Harzer Wandernadel📗 stamp station♟️2️⃣1️⃣1️⃣ is located there. Behind the reservoir, we turned left⬅️ to head towards Josephshöhe. After some altitude meters↕️ and crossing the road🛣️, we completed the final meters of …

In the morning before the heat set in, I started my tour to the Josephskreuz (♟️HWN 215). So early in the morning, I had it all to myself. Since I love buildings like this, I had to take a souvenir from the mint. The tower is my personal highlight!! After marveling at the sights, we went along the "Street of …

Spontaneously in the Harz Mountains, really recommendable on Saturdays. Young forests alternate with heathland and meadows. The inn in Strassberg would be recommended as a drinking break, but it was closed today.

Speed is too high again. 😀 Otherwise a very nice round. The Joseph Cross is also very impressive. Shortly thereafter we ran to "Die Straße der Lieder" where there were lyrics to sing along to happily. At the end we are past the Kilianteich. Where you can secretly go swimming 😊

Today I was on the road again with a companion for a long time. It started at the hiking car park on the L 236. First to the Frankenteich and there we took a break for breakfast. From there to the Kiliansteich HWN 211. Then back in the direction of the road and over to actually take a path in …
