The pond provides a lot of variety along the way. You can also see different species of birds there, before it goes up again and into the forest. From the karst path you have another view of the pond.

Kaiserrunde😊
As we passed the car, we didn't take anything with us for the first 4 km except a water bottle and the stamp booklet.
After about 1 km the komoot lady said wrong direction...oh no, turn around, nooooo
So we just hiked 10 km.
Met 2 nice men at the gypsum kiln, told us that we didn't have anything …

Stamp fever 🌡🤒 has broken out. Even leg wraps 🤣 won't help. Don't worry, it's not that bad. These green ♟️ boxes lure us to places we probably would never have discovered otherwise.

We start in Neuhof and follow a path that leads us around the idyllic Lower Crane Pond. We continue to the Sachsenstein Hut, where we take our …

The hiking season has opened 🥶 Today we went to the karst hiking trail around Walkenried in mild temperatures. The monastery always inspires me, unfortunately the lighting conditions around midday were anything but optimal 😬.
I also liked the karst hiking trail, as always well maintained and well signposted. Some giant trees have to be overcome/circumferred, but previous hikers 🥾 …

A very nice hike on the karst path with varied nature, intact deciduous forests, great hiking trails and paths, and great views 😊. The many opportunities to rest and the refuges are very positive on the route, which was also very useful on the Sachsenstein 🌧. Starting at the Walkenried monastery in the direction of the Sachsenstein castle ruins, the …

Today we started from Walkenried ... it was just an incredibly beautiful autumn day and it was a lot of fun
My first destination was the Ellrich Hexentanzplatz, where I did a quick lap with my broom 😅. I'm around the Itel pond and back to Walkenried. Now I'm on the cliff path to the Sachsensteinhütte, a great path 🤩. …

Having been gripped by the stamp fever, the first stamps for the Harz Hiking Badge were collected ♟
The virgin stamp booklet was inaugurated with a special stamp (Mehholz Gypsum Trail - unfortunately not recorded with Komoot, as the original plan was different 🙄) 😊
On the route to the monastery, uphill and downhill, two more regular stamps were collected.
