The Port of Mataró is a marina opened in 1991 in the city of Mataró, the capital of Maresme. It is managed by the public body Consorcio Puerto Mataró and has a total of 1,080 moorings for boats up to eighteen meters in length. Currently it is totally dedicated to sport navigation, although in its beginnings it had a fishing dock and a fish market, now disappeared.

Isolated structure and scaffolding between two rocky outcrops (or slopes) formed by the area's own terrain. The water gushes out naturally through a metal spout embedded in a wall built of stone, attached to the slope of the western side.

The water falls into a small channel that is connected to a rectangular pond built with bricks. In the center of the pool wall is a recess that lets the water pass into a small rectangular sink made of four bricks. From this sink there is a rectangular channel, also built with bricks, which leads the water to a modern drain. On the slope of the south side there is a rectangular stone panel with the following inscription: "FONT DEL SOT FERRUGINOSA". In front of the fountain is a small esplanade covered with gravel and two concrete benches for sitting.
