Lake Wiżajny

Highlight • Lake

Lake Wiżajny is located in the Suwałki Region, right on the border with Lithuania, and is a great starting point for a bike ride along the region's hilly, scenic trails. The area around the lake offers quiet, paved roads and dirt paths, so a trekking bike with sturdy tires is best. It's a good place to relax overlooking the water, and you can also visit the nearby village of Wiżajny, known for its local cheeses and proximity to the border crossing. In summer, it's worth bringing provisions and mosquito repellent, as there are few shops and restaurants here.

Stańczyki Observation Tower

Highlight • Viewpoint

The 34-meter high tower, due to its octagonal shape, has become one of the most characteristic tourist attractions of Stańczyk.
In Stańczyki and in Pobłębie, two 20-meter observation towers have been officially put into use. From the terrace situated at a height of 15 meters above the ground, there are views of the beautiful postglacial landscapes. From the tower in Stańczyki you can see the tombstone lakes of Tobellus, the gorge of the Błędzianki valley and the famous historic railway bridges. From the second tower you can see, among other things, Lake Pobłędzie and the panorama of the Romincka Forest. Parking lots and pavements were built next to the towers. Admission to both towers is free.

Hańcza Lake

Highlight • Lake

Lake Hańcza is the deepest lake in Poland, with a maximum depth of 108.5 meters. It is located in the Suwałki Region, surrounded by the picturesque hills and forests of the Suwałki Landscape Park. The lake boasts crystal-clear waters, attracting not only anglers and kayakers but also divers from across the country. Cyclists can enjoy attractive, undulating trails around the lake, offering beautiful views of the lake and numerous erratic boulders.

This is also the starting point of the "Poglacial Gully of Lake Hańcza" educational trail—a hiking trail approximately 10 km long that leads from Stara Hańcza, with its historic manor house and park, along the eastern shore of Lake Hańcza, and then through the Czarna Hańcza River valley to Turtul. The trail features shelters, campfire areas, and educational information boards.

Lake Pogorzałek

Highlight • Lake

Lake Pogorzałek, located near Hańcza in the Suwałki Region, is a quiet, rarely visited body of water, ideal for a rest during a bike trip through this picturesque region. Surrounded by fields and forests, the lake attracts lovers of silence and wildlife, and its shores are natural and rather wild, without much tourist infrastructure. Access by bike is via local asphalt and dirt roads, which can be sandy, so it is worth having well-chosen tires. It is a good place for a short stop, photos and contact with nature away from popular trails.

Old Believers' Molenna in Wodziłki

Highlight • Religious Site

It's a pity that you can't see this sacred building inside and you can admire it from behind the fence. The molenna in Wodzilki was established in 1863. It did not have a bell tower, it was added in 1928, thanks to which the church took on the silhouette of an Orthodox temple similar to those built in the 17th century in Lithuania. The furnishings of the monastery are modest - a dozen or so icons, old books and crosses. In 1997, it was completely renovated. Much more information here suwalszczyzna.com.pl/info/miejsca/wodzilki
