Unfortunately the upper castle in Kranichfeld was closed, otherwise I would have liked to have a look around there.
The forest around the castle on our tour suffered a lot, or better said, the former forest there. We walked a lot over open spaces instead of through forests. Fortunately, there is reforestation going on there.
