Wonderful autumn weather with almost 20 degrees after the fog and clouds have cleared. Sure, the heather is no longer in bloom, but the landscape around the Eagle Monument is still something special. The latter was probably erected in 1914. The eagle looks west, in memory of the Franco-Prussian War of 1870/71.
