The tower itself is 30 meters high and was built in 1910.

Heideteich

Highlight • Lake

The heath pond is on the edge of the Düben heath, near the small village of Reinharz. It can be easily reached via signposted forest paths. There is a resting place right at the pond for a break. ☺️👍🏻

Beaver wetlands in the Dübener Heide

Highlight (Segment) • Natural

Shallow water, gnawed tree stumps and beaver burrows on banks. If you keep your eyes open here, you will see countless tracks left by the local beavers. Of course, the beavers themselves want to be left alone. 😅👍🏻 A very interesting section of the forest. 👏🏻☺️

Reinharz Castle Park

Highlight • Castle

The castle park with the surrounding water areas invites you to linger with its rare trees. Between 1690 and 1701, Heinrich von Löser, Electoral Marshal of the Saxon Empire, had a representative moated castle with a baroque park, palace and brewery pond created to adequately accommodate the nobles while hunting in the Düben heath. 👏🏻

September 9, 2025,Lutherweg zum Schloss Reinharz
A very beautiful hike in the Düben Heath, mostly along the Luther Trail to Reinharz Castle and the surrounding area. There were plenty of rest areas and benches along the route.

Today we went on our first hike in the Düben Heath. We were piqued by the interesting tour by @g.a.frosch. So we did some research and then set off with great joy. The weather was perfect. We met few people along the way. Unfortunately, the Devil's Mill is closed for construction work, and the castle is also not accessible. The …

Very nice round: varied and interesting. At the end you can eat in the restaurant "Schöne Aussicht".

A varied hike in the Dübener Heide with the old water castle Reinharz, funny wooden figures and refreshment stops in the "Teufelsmühle" or the "Schöne Aussicht". If you walk it counterclockwise, you can go down the stairs 😆 and you have the particularly beautiful part in the forest at the end.

Showing Translation

Short information, the Teufelsmühle has unfortunately closed forever. The new owner no longer wants to run the restaurant.

If you fancy a group tour, this round is well suited. The paths are paved most of the time and wide enough to walk next to each other. There are few places that promote sure-footedness or climbing. The beaver circuit at the castle is well signposted and easy to follow. Along the pond you can even now find fresh beaver …
