August 15, 2023,Etappe 11: Von Niederlahnstein nach Braubach – Rheinsteig - 15.08.2023
The 11th stage of the Rheinsteig started today in Niederlahnstein at the train station and went through the Ruppertsklamm, here it started to rain 🌧️. We continued over the pedestrian bridge over the Lahn to Lahnstein on the heights. Here it went through the Aspich Gorge in the direction of Braubach via the Felsenweg. Here you can see the Rhine …

A normally beautiful tour. From Niederlahnstein a rather moderate tour. But I think from the other side it would have been a lot harder because of the rocky climb.
So the rock descent was a nice finish.
The coffee and cake in the youth hostel did us a lot of good when we reached our destination.

The Ruppertsklamm was not originally included in the tour suggested by Komoot. But we didn't want to miss the opportunity and spontaneously included it in our 🍀plan. Waterproof shoes are recommended for this section of the route, …

From there, first the access path of approx. 2.5 km on asphalted roads until we finally reached the Rheinsteig. Past Lahneck Castle, fabulous views open up from the Lahnhöhe, before going through the quiet Schlierbachtal and then over wide heights. Then …

Been on the Rheinsteig again, today from Nieder-Lahnstein to Braubach. We parked in Braubach and then took the bus (SEV) to Nieder-Lahnstein. The access path from the train station to the Rheinsteig is about 2.2 km long. Then it went another approx. 1.5 km on asphalt paths towards the forest and nicer trails. So the first almost 4 km were …

There are nicer routes around the corner. Everything is fine to the Marksburg. But the way back🫣
