St. Stephani Church Hornhausen

The St. Stephani Church is still a young church. The hall church was built in the years 1745 to 1747 from quarry stones probably in place of a castle chapel and served as an official and village church. The church of St. Stephani was inaugurated on 18 December 1885. The church tower is located west of the elongated ship. Covered is the church with a pitched roof. An annex for the Patronage Lodge is located on the northern side. The neo-Gothic brick building has galleries in the interior on the north and south sides. Special attention deserves the copy of the famous "Reiterstein" on the outer wall of the church tower. The "Reiterstein" from Hornhausen shows a Saxon warrior from the 8th century. The original is now in the Landesmuseum für Vorgeschichte in Halle. From 2002 to 2012, the wooden beams of the nave were lavishly freed from the sponge and continue to promote the renovation of the church.
