Fir Trail is a great descent and a manageable climbing return trail. It is wide near the start and past the intersection with Tafoni Trail it becomes a single trail to the intersection of Resolution Trail. It continues to drop down to Methuselah trail near the bottom crossing of El Corte De Madera creek.
The first 1km section from Skyline Blvd trailhead to Manzanita Trail intersection is wide and moderate: komoot.de/highlight/162782
