March 4, 2025,BB-MOL: Feldsteinpyramide Garzau – Runde von Rehfelde 250304GL
@Gloria and I did this tour in Brandenburg, in Märkisch Oderland. We started at Rehfelde train station. First we passed the Garzau fieldstone pyramid.
"The pyramid in Garzau, the largest fieldstone pyramid in Germany, is the central landmark of the former castle park. It was built by Count Friedrich Wilhelm Carl von Schmettau (1743 - 1806), a Prussian officer and …

A beautiful and varied tour!

The highlight is Germany's largest fieldstone pyramid in Garzau (near Strausberg). You're not supposed to climb it, but I like climbing... 😅
The pyramid was built in 1784, but fell into disrepair in the 20th century. It was rediscovered (as a ruin) in 1999 and rebuilt by 2010.

What a gift to be invited by a loved one on a sunny day☀️❄️ for a hike in a beautiful landscape on your doorstep and to be pampered with home-baked cookies🍪, warm drinks🫖 and wonderful conversations.
💚-Thank you, dear @Susann, for this wonderful Sunday morning.😘

First 2 and last 4 km of town/asphalt. Lake partially surrounded by arbors. High proportion of open fields > unprotected from the weather

In places we had to fight our way through the wilderness. There are trees everywhere. Hard but beautiful.

Oh how nice 😊, uncomplicated arrival and departure, @Steffi🌾🌳 as a wonderful companion 🙏🏻, the best weather ☀️❄️ and the tour: forest, water, climbing, peace, perfect places to take a break and finally the Garzau pyramid.
And the restaurant “Zur alten Linde” at the train station is open 👍🏻.

Lots of space, lots of forest and water and the highlight is the pyramid of Garzau - that's what this round looks like. You're not allowed to climb the pyramid, although the lookout could conclude that.

Showing Translation

Spring round to the field stone pyramid in Garzau with a varied, longer approach. A tour of the interior of the Garzin Church was possible upon request.
If you go directly from the parking lot it would only be 500 m…
