St John's Church (Johanneskirche), Dömitz

Highlight • Religious Site

From 1869 to 1872, St. John's Church was built on the highest square in the city, replacing a dilapidated predecessor. It is a Neo-Gothic church, and to this day, the interior remains largely as it was when it was built.

The roof of our church was recently renovated, and the next major project is the organ. It is an instrument by the renowned organ builder Runge from Hagenow. Unfortunately, the organ has not been well maintained in recent decades, so there is much work to be done. The iron bell from the 1950s also needs to be replaced soon.
