Tacot Trail

Highlight • Trail

Before the advent of bus lines, the Morvan was crossed by two railway lines called Tacots. Tacot means economical narrow-gauge railway.

These small trains, which carried no more than four carriages, transported people and schoolchildren, as well as livestock, wood, lime, and even barrels of wine.

All this took place between 1900 and 1939.

The Tacot route is now used by hikers and mountain bikers.

Haut-Folin Summit

Highlight • Viewpoint

The summit of Haut-Folin is not to be confused with the nearby pass of the same name.

The pass at an altitude of 873 meters, while the summit culminates at 901 meters.

This summit of the Morvan goes almost unnoticed, because it is located in a forest, you pass it without really noticing it.

Fortunately, there is an indication on a granite stele.

3rd night spent at the post office hotel.
Very warm welcome from the family who run the hotel. Very good evening meal with hearty breakfast, comfortable bed, shower in the room. Storage of bicycles in a lockable barn. Very good performance.
