The classic on your doorstep: the fish ponds of Hütten were created by the monks. With each pond, a wild biotope opens up, enchanted and deep in the forest. Recommended in every season. In combination, for example, with the fisherman in Hütten and the village of the monastery founded in Althof, you can create wonderful routes through the Mecklenburg hills.

Althof is a district of Bad Doberan. Cistercian monks from Amelungsborn founded a monastery here in 1171, which was destroyed again in 1179 amidst the turmoil of the time. Today, the chapel Althof, built in the 14th century, and the ruin of an outbuilding are reminders of the monastery era.
