West Lake and Chinese Pagoda, Victoria Park

Highlight • Viewpoint

The original pagoda was built as an entrance to the Chinese Exhibition in Hyde Park. After the exhibition it was brought to Victoria Park. Sadly it fell into disrepair and so was demolished in the 1950's. The new pagoda was built in 2012 on the same spot.

Victoria Park Lake, Sculptures, and Pagoda

Highlight • Viewpoint

Victoria Park in Hackney is a large and attractive park with lakes, sculptures, a Chinese pagoda and numerous play areas. There's tasty food and drink at the Pavilion Cafe, including cakes and home-baked bread.

It's located at a junction of the Regent Canal and the Hertford Union Canal, which makes it ideal for walking or riding trips between Regents Park, Limehouse Basin and the Olympic Park.

The Pavilion, Victoria Park

Highlight • Rest Area

Occupying a lovely spot on the eastern end of Vicky Park's West Lake, the Pavilion is a great place to grab a brew. You can also get breakfast and lunch here, with everything from sandwiches and other lunchtime classics to dishes with a Sri Lankan influence. There are toilet facilities too.
