The railway runs from here south along the coast to Watchet and then south down the edge of the Quantock Hills to Bishops Lydeard near Taunton. Minehead is a lovely seaside resort with absolutely everything a visitor could wish for. The Coastal Path begins here and many people only stay for 1 night, but it is also a good base for a longer vacation. The whole of Exmoor, the North Devon coast to Clovelly, but also beautiful Wells and the eccentric Glastonbury and Cheddar Gorge are very easy to reach.
