Fiddleford Mill and Manor House

Highlight • Historical Site

It's hard to a imagine a more serene location than Fiddleford, with its 14th-century manor and pretty mill. While the present mill dates back to the 13th century, impressive in itself, there has been a mill here since at lease the date of the Domesday Book in 1087.

The weir bridge is just as wonderful with its rusty wheels and vibrant, rural setting. Summer is the most majestic time to visit but all seasons bring their magic here.

The North Dorset Trailway now extends approximately 14 miles from Sturminster Newton to Spetisbury, with a section in Stalbridge they aim to link with, providing a safe route for walkers, runners, cyclists, equestrians and people with mobility scooters. The Trailway is largely made up of sections of the old Somerset and Dorset Railway which linked Bristol and Bournemouth until the 1960s.
