Wills Neck Summit

Highlight • Natural Monument

This is the highest point in the Quantocks with a summit at 1,266 feet (386 m). Wills Neck is also one of the highest points in Somerset. Surrounded by open heathland, you'll find a trig point near the summit and fantastic views to the south, west and east. The patchwork countryside unfolds before you and on a clear day you can see across to Dartmoor, Exmoor and the Mendips.

The Drove Road (Quantock Hills)

The Drove Road is an avenue of Beech trees which was originally used by ancient traders to transport goods and livestock to the port at Watchet.

If you keep your eyes peeled you can see cairns and barrows which mark the graves of Bronze Age settlers.

Black Hill Trig Point

Well worth a visit for the views. From Crowcrombe Gate the climb is relatively and steady but loose in places but well worth the effort, when you get to the top.

Gorgeous, exposed part of moorland on top of the Quantock Hills. On a good day, enjoy views to Exmoor, the south coast of Wales and over to Bristol.

Bicknoller Post

Highlight • Natural Monument

Standing at 951 feet (290m), Bicknoller Post is a marker for this hill summit, one of the many in the Quantocks Hill Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. It gets its name from the village of Bicknoller to the West edge of the Quantocks. Up on the tops here, you will get to experience some incredible views over the moorland, woodland and towards the coastline.

Lady's Edge Trail

Highlight (Segment) • Trail

Lady's Edge - a fast, flow piece of singletrack which drops you into Holford Combe (no slough on the awesome trail front either).

Starting from Bicknoller Post, it carves down the north side of the Combe, running under bushes, past bracken and going deeper, deeper into the Combe itself. Watch out for walkers; the desire for speed is ever-present, and the corners can be blind.

Holford Combe is one of those very rare places in the UK that's just as much fun up as down.

Actually, I'm not sure that such a place exists - and it's a complete blast heading down, as those many, many stream crossings will attest - but it's of a sufficient gradient that you gain quite a lot of height quite quickly, and those self-same stream crossings that are such fun going downhill serve to distract your attention from how hard you're working.

And it's all in gorgeous surroundings, too!
